To be able to provide effective care for those with Korsakoff’s

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand what Korsakoff’s is 
  • Be aware of the causes of Korsakoff’s 
  • Recognise the symptoms of Korsakoff’s 
  • Be aware of the medical conditions that can lead to Korsakoff’s 
  • Be aware of the areas of the brain, and what they control 
  • Understand what Wernicke’s Encephalopathy is 
  • Recognise the symptoms of Wernicke’s Encephalopathy 
  • Know hoe Wernicke’s Encephalopathy is treated 
  • Know how Korsakoff’s is treated 
  • Be aware of the regimen of medication commonly prescribed to those with Korsakoff’s 
  • Be aware of the complications of Korsakoff’s  
  • Understand how to provide effective care for those with Korsakoff’s
