This course is aimed at professionals who care for those with PEGsCourse Aims
To be able to provide nutrition and support for those with PEGsLearning Outcomes
- Be aware of the factors that can affect the prescription of PEG feeds
- Recognise who might require additional nutritional support
- Understand how to administer feed using a pump
- Know how to administer feed using a bolus
- Be aware of issues surrounding administering medication through PEGs
- Know when and how to flush a PEG tube
- Understand how to deal with a blocked tube
